“Turreted” refers to the crystal’s architectural form—stacked, tower-like growths that resemble turrets or pagodas. These vertical formations occur when calcite crystallizes in open cavities, often layer by layer, creating dramatic spires that seem to reach skyward. Pagoda Calcite is a rare and visually captivating form of calcite. Its layered structure often features multiple faces on nearly every side, reminiscent of Elestial Quartz in complexity and texture. The name “Pagoda” draws inspiration from its architectural likeness to the multi-tiered roofs found in traditional Asian temples.

Typically appearing in shades of clear to milky white, Pagoda Calcite may also display deep red or rust tones due to iron oxide either coating the surface or embedded within the crystal itself. These fiery accents add both visual drama and energetic depth.
