Geological Formation
Ocean Jasper is a spherulitic chalcedony, formed when silica‑rich volcanic fluids cooled slowly enough to create concentric orb structures. These mini orbs developed as microscopic radiating crystals grew outward in perfect circles, later infused with trace minerals like iron and manganese that created its bright greens, yellows, pinks, creams, and teals.
Found in cliffside deposits accessible only at low tide, the original veins required hand‑collection and are now largely depleted.
